Dear friends and colleaguesIt is a great honour to invite you to the 23rd International Conference of Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI). The Conference will take place from 10 -13 October 2007 in Caracas, Venezuela.
We are pleased to be hosting this year’s Conference, under the theme “New Perspectives; New Hope”, in Latin America. We ask you to join the large group of international delegates in our search for better quality of life for people with dementia and their carers. Through continued research and investment in care and science this goal comes ever closer.
Progressive mental disorders in old age have been recognized and described throughout history. It was not until 1906 that a collection of brain cell abnormalities were specifically identified and presented to the medical world by Dr. Alois Alzheimer, a German physician. The disease now bears his name.
The Caracas conference will review recent achievements in the fields of medical research and care practice. It will examine this progressive, irreversible brain disorder with no known cause or cure, and look at the ways different countries around the globe deal with the challenges that Alzheimer’s disease and dementia bring to our societies and economies.
A warm welcome awaits you at the 23rd International Conference of ADI. Venezuela is a beautiful country. White sand beaches, tropical rainforests and snow capped mountains enchant its visitors and a warm reception will greet you at every turn.
This happy balance between business and pleasure will ensure that the 23rd International Conference of ADI in Venezuela will be a memorable experience. We look forward to seeing you there.
